It is said that time heals all. I’m not sure I completely believe this. My counselor believes I am depressed and she’s given me all these articles that talk about time and how it’s a big part of the healing process. I honestly don’t think time heals everything. While it may be true that sometimes all we need is to take a break and do nothing, sooner or later that pain or grief will come back. It seems to me that what really heals pain, grief, or even loss is just something we need to learn how to deal. Somehow we need to grow accustomed to those feelings and little by little let go of them. It’s not like one day you’re going to wake up and all that sadness will just disappear. You have to deal with it for a while and do things that make you feel good. While everyday may not seem like a good one, there are things from it that make one feel good. It’s not time that heals, rather it is what we decide to do and our good and bad choices.
